his module covers the assessment and management of possible complications associated with injection therapies. Contained within this material are patient assessment techniques and recognizable signs and symptoms for allergic reactions, anaphylaxis and pneumothorax. In addition to techniques used to identify these conditions, prevention and management procedures are outlined to provide the clinician with concise and accurate information useful in managing these conditions.

After completing this course you will be able to:
•    take a patient’s vitals and correctly interpret their results
•    administer an epinephrine in case of severe anaphylactic shock
•    administer oxygen to a patient using proper equipment and flow rate
•    recognize signs and symptoms of a pneumothorax and understand what management steps are necessary
